6 Day of Dr. Seuss, Literature Unit

DAY ONE: ONE FISH TWO FISH RED FISH BLUE FISH

After reading the book, I had the kids paint with red, blue, white and green paint on paper. Then after it dried, I cut out the fish shapes and had them glue on googly eyes.

After we were done painting. I put it all on my wall of Dr. Suess!

DAY TWO: CAT IN THE HAT

After reading the book, I had the kids paint make a cat in the hat with paper plates and pipe cleaners.

Then we had a Cat in the Hat themed snack with strawberries and bananas.

After the cat dried, I put it on our board!

DAY THREE: THE LORAX

After reading the book, I tried two activities. One: I had my daughter dye cotton balls with food coloring. She loved doing that, but they were still wet for three days! So instead, I had my kids glue pom-poms with straws on to paper.

Then I put the pom-poms on our board.

DAY FOUR: GREEN EGGS AND HAM

After reading the book, I made a snack with dye scrambled eggs and ham. My son was grossed out, but my daughter loved it!

Afterwards, I had her roll up crepe paper in little balls and glue it on a paper plate.

DAY FIVE: HORTON HEARS A WHO

After reading the book, I had the kids paint paper plates with grey. Then I had my daughter cut out the elephant shapes and glue them together.

DAY SIX: OH THE PLACES YOU'LL GO

After reading the book, we made balloons with paper and crepe paper.

My daughter loved running around the house pretending she was flying!
